I’d like to start this by providing a little info about my own journey into academy ownership. As a Purple belt I started teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for free once a week to my old Karate alumni as a way of giving back. This coincided with the BJJ school I was training at moving nearly a 2 hour (four hour round…

Providing Sanctuary

Providing Sanctuary

People About Us

My initial goal was to get back in shape and make a directional change in my personal lifestyle. I thought my competitive days were over, but the FBJJ team sparked a fire inside of me. It has been some of the hardest training of my life, both physically and mentally, but an experience I’ve enjoyed thanks to the camaraderie of this gym.

Jason Tracy

I was a has-been college athlete in the midst of a personal crisis that had me feeling exhausted, overweight and all around pretty down about my life. Jiu-Jitsu was more mentally and physically challenging than any sport I had ever played. But each training session was novel and subtlety designed to instill confidence. The coaches are knowledgeable and recognized the differing learning curves and morale of each student.
